If there is birefringence, such as when the temperature increases, various turbid substances will become clear and homogenous liquids with the increase of temperature.
Conversely, when such substances change from liquid to solid, they also pass through an intermediate state. Various substances that can have both liquid and crystal properties within a certain temperature range are called liquid crystals, also known as the fourth state of matter.

LCD is the full name of liquid crystal display, a display screen composed of liquid crystal, is a mature technology, it includes TFT, UFB, TFD, STN and other types of liquid crystal display.
TFT is commonly used in notebook LCD screens. The TFT screen is a thin film transistor with a special light pipe on its back, which can actively control each independent pixel on the screen.
TFT has excellent color saturation, reproduction ability and higher contrast, and it is still very clear in the sun.
Unlike traditional LCD displays, OLED display technology does not require a backlight and uses a very thin coating of organic materials and a glass substrate.
These organic materials emit light when an electric current is passed through them. Moreover, OLED display screens can be made lighter and thinner, with larger viewing angles, and can significantly save power.
