Product Story · TXW280115B0-MT · 2.8″ TFT + CTP · Shenzhen, China
Most compact displays ask the engineer to solve two problems separately — fitting a screen and fitting a touch surface. This module answers both in one bonded part, and talks to the host board over a single slim ribbon cable.
If you are building a handheld terminal, a bedside medical monitor, a smart-home wall panel or a portable meter, you already know the pattern. The screen arrives from one supplier, the touch panel from another, the bonding from a third, and by the time the three are stacked the assembly is thicker than the enclosure allows and the alignment tolerance has eaten your margin. This module removes that negotiation entirely: glass, sensor, LCD and backlight leave our line as one tested part, with one drawing package and one inspection standard.
The panel is driven through a two-lane MIPI interface — the same channel style used across modern mobile platforms — carried on a 22-pin FPC. In real enclosure design this is the difference between one flex passing through a hinge area and two or three competing for the same millimetre of gap.
Fewer conductors also means a quieter signal path. Differential pairs resist the EMI that plagues parallel RGB buses once your product picks up a cellular modem or a switching supply, and the ST7701SN is a controller your firmware team very likely already supports — which shortens bring-up from weeks to days.
The touch stack is G+FF: a chemically strengthened cover glass bonded over a film sensor. It matters in practice, because a hardened surface survives the warehouse glove, the clinic wipe-down and the sunlight that a bare plastic overlay quietly surrenders to.
Five simultaneous touch points, hardness above 6H on the 750 gf pencil test, better than 85 percent light transmittance. Cover glass printing, anti-glare and anti-reflective treatment are available if your product is read under direct sunlight or must disappear into a black front panel.
The panel is Normally Black and transmissive with free viewing direction, so a portrait layout stays readable for a customer standing to the side of a counter — not only for the person directly in front of it.
A 2.8-inch diagonal with a 43.20 by 57.60 mm active area gives you a genuinely vertical canvas — closer to a label than a video frame, which is exactly what menus, dosing screens and control lists want. Colour reaches 16.7M with RGB vertical stripe arrangement.
Illumination comes from six white LEDs running at 20 mA with a forward voltage between 16.8 and 19.2 V, rated for 30,000 hours of life. Logic runs from 1.65 to 3.3 V, the LCD from 2.5 to 3.3 V and the touch panel from 2.8 to 3.3 V with 1.8 V I/O — compatible with the rails that dominate current handheld designs.
The module is rated for -20 to +70 °C in operation and -30 to +80 °C in storage, at 20 to 90 percent relative humidity, and has been put through 96-hour high and low temperature cycling in our reliability room. Materials and processing are lead free and RoHS compliant, with CE, RoHS and FCC documentation available for market entry.
We ship this module most often into handheld terminals and portable instruments, where the operator reads a short vertical list and taps it with a thumb. It also appears in smart-home wall panels and access-control readers that need a small, always-on face with reliable touch after years of cleaning. Medical device makers choose it for bedside monitors and blood-pressure units, drawn by the wide temperature range and the absence of a separate overlay to delaminate. Industrial HMI and test-and-measurement designs use it where the enclosure is small and the front panel must stay sealed.
Typical builds: handheld terminal · POS and payment device · smart-home panel · access control · medical monitor · industrial HMI · test and measurement
Design cycles move fastest when the mechanical drawing arrives early. Send us your outline, viewing window and FPC exit direction, and we return a matched drawing within one working day, typically with two or three options on brightness and structure. Samples ship with the full specification package so your lab can validate interface timing, touch firmware and optical performance before tooling is committed.
For volume programmes we support FPC pinout changes, brightness upgrade, cover glass printing, TP window adjustment and cable assembly — so the part you qualify is the part you receive.
Commercial terms stay simple because projects differ so much in volume and customization: a single unit can be evaluated before any commitment, and pricing is quoted against your annual forecast.
Tell us the interface, brightness and structure you need.
We will come back with a matched LCD solution, a drawing and a quotation within one working day. Samples are ready for your validation bench.
